What is going down? How are you doing? Is Marlon Hur the Valionaire? Back here with some more value. I must tell you, I really enjoy doing this. I really enjoy making uh I really enjoy having this podcast. Now, of course, these are some of the earlier episodes. We're gonna have guests on, things of that nature. But this just gives me an opportunity to kind of put out some things that I've learned in the financial world, some things that have helped me, some things that have hurt me. And despite all that, was still able to become pretty successful in my life. And of course, you know, in this in this world, we we measure success by how much money you're making, how much money you have. And I can definitely say that, you know, on my dad's side, coming from, you know, my great-great-grandfather being a slave to where I am right now, and you know, my my parents pushing me to become educated. You know, my dad said, hey, you're going down to that school, because I wasn't sure what I wanted to do. I mean, I I like school, but I wasn't sure. And I and the fact that I had a chance to go to the Ohio State and live in Columbus and have those experiences introduced me to the world of business and finance. So this just gives me an opportunity to share some things. I'm not saying everything I share is going to be correct or right for you, or you know, this is not financial advice or legal advice or tax advice or any of that nature. It's just some things that I've learned that I've seen work in my life and those around me, and them as well. I've had this, I've had a chance to see this go down four or five different levels of something that I've learned and taught, and people still do it that way to this day. So, uh this is gonna today. We're gonna talk a little bit about credit. All right. I know credit is something that's important. I don't even know why credit is here, you know, just some arbitrary number that tells you if you're if you're allowed to borrow money or not, or you know, or or allows you to buy money or not. All right, is it's it's the to me, it's the dumbest thing in the world. It's the dumbest thing because any little thing can make your credit score go up or down and sideways or not move or what have you, right? And then and then attempting to repair your credit is is BS as well, too. Right? It takes forever to get things removed off. Sometimes you gotta file lawsuits. It's all a big money game. And they're all involved. The banks, the credit, the credit bureaus, everybody's involved. CFPB, everybody's involved. All right, and you trying to get this stuff off of your credit. Now, eventually they will remove it, you know, seven years later, blah, blah, blah. But let's talk about the things that you can control. All right? Things you can't control. Number one thing that you can't control is not being late and not taking out too much. Sometimes you take out too much debt and and because you want it or you can afford it right now. Okay, so let's start there. Don't don't be late. Okay, number two, if if if you took out that debt and it's now a bill, take care of that bill. Other things have to go to this to the wayside. No, I can't go on that vacation. I just bought a new car. No, I can't go out tonight. I just bought a new car. Right? Until you get settled and or you know, some more income comes in, or you know, you learn these things that we talk about in this podcast and inside of Budget Boys, the community. Right? Until that changes, you bet. I can't do that right now. But what some people, what a lot of people do is that I just bought a new car that's not an additional $500 a month. Let me go out this weekend and spend $200 and then be worried that I'm missing $200. Yeah, I just bought a new car, but oh, I've always I've always wanted to go to Jamaica. Let me spend this money and go to Jamaica and then try to ask and borrow for it to make my car payment. Okay. So let's talk about uh paying for a deletion. Okay, paying for a deletion. So let's say you and this this works for um charge offs and collections. Charge offs and collections. So let's talk about it. Number one, find out, get all the information you can, especially with collection companies, make sure you actually owe them the debt. Don't just start say, hey, I need the paperwork, I need the signatures, I need the purchase agreement. I need to see how I owe you. Because if you bought this debt, then and you can prove that you bought it, and you can prove that you own it, then yeah, we could talk. But make them prove that they own it first. Now that's a whole completely different thing. We have this training inside of Budget Boys, all right. Inside of Budget Boys and one of our bonus areas, we do have this training. Okay, so now with charge-offs, charge-offs are still with the company, they're with the company's internal collection agency, and I know this because I used to I used to bang the phones uh collecting. Okay, I used to I used to be mad banging the phones. Alright. So let's say you owe. Okay. Now, even with collection, there's some other steps you could take, some lawsuits and things that nature, but that's that's not my I I know about it, but I don't do it. I know somebody who does, but I don't do it. But I understand the the process and the concept. So, right, so let's say you owe. And let's say the amount is $2,000. Alright? So you're gonna write a letter to the company saying, hey, I want to offer you, start at 25% of the balance. What's 25% of $2,000? $500? Yeah. I want to offer you $500. If you accept, I pay you one time, and you also have to agree to remove this off of my credit report. Something to that effect. Alright, I'm gonna pay you $500. We'll settle at $500. If you agree, I'll pay you a one-lump sum, case closed, and you remove this off my credit report. What say you? Alright? Now you send that to them, and you may want to send a self-addressed stamped envelope to them as well, too, and say, send me your reply. They may come back with, no, we want $1,700. Right? And then we'll agree to remove off your credit report. You go back, you say, I can't do $1,700. I can do $750, I can do $750, and then you write another letter back, $750,000. You agree, I'll pay you one lump sum, and you get this removed on my credit report. What say you? They may agree that they don't agree, but don't go over 50%. Do not go over 50%. Don't go over 50%. They may come back and say $1,300. Yeah, nope, I got a thousand. That's all I got. And you send them back a thousand. If they agree, make sure it says in writing, we agree to your terms. We agree to the thousand dollars we agree to remove off your credit report. You gotta have this in writing. I don't care how much back and forth you have to do. It's already on your credit report, it's already negative, it's already in the hole, so it doesn't matter. Right? I want to get this off fast. It ain't going nowhere. So just take your time learning and do this for all of them. Or the ones that you you know that you have the money for, let's put that way, okay? So now you pay them with a money order. Don't give them your card information, don't give them your bank information. Because there's a good chance they'll save that information. All right, there's a good chance they will save it, and there's a good chance they may charge you as well, too. Okay? That they may charge you just out of the blue. You'll get a charge from some company out of the blue because you have them. So pay it in a money order. Pay it with the money order. What y'all doing, buddy? Why you come this way? Okay. So pay with a money order. Now, they got their payment. You got your letter. Well, before you send a payment, make sure you send a copy of the payment. Send a copy of the money order and all that kind of. I mean, sorry, make a copy of the money order. Make a copy of the money order, make a copy of everything in color if you have to. Go down to Kinkos or Staples or whoever's Office Max, wherever you go, and make color copies. All right? Now, send a copy to each credit bureau. Okay? Send a copy of your letter, their letter agreeing to it, a copy of the money order, all that stuff. Copy of the certified mail letter. Send it, send everything certified mail. Take a photocopy of the envelope that you're sending, certified mail, and send it to every credit bureau. And say, this company agreed to remove this, and you want to do your side, remove this. They got 72 hours to remove it. After they receive it, not from you mailing it. After they receive it, they got 72 hours to remove it. Because the company agreed to it. Because sometimes the company won't do it. Then you got to file suit. Okay. If it doesn't be removed, if it's not removed in 72 hours, attempt to give them a call. The credit bureaus. Hey, I sent you this at this time. You had 72 hours removed, you didn't remove it, and you you and have them look it up. And have them remove it over the phone. Okay? Have them remove it over the phone. Have them look it up because they received it. You send a certified mail. Alright, you may want to wait till you get the certified mail return receipt back. But either way, they got it. You saw it was delivered, and they didn't remove it. Get them on the phone. Tell them they get they got to remove it. If they don't, then you file suit. You file suit against the credit bureau. You file suit against the company. Now I don't do that, but I know someone who does. And she, I saw the check. I saw the check with her name on it that she won by filing suit. I saw the check. I said, oh my gosh. And you know how she learned this? By being in one of my classes that we did years ago. And she just said, I'm just gonna learn how to do this. Okay? Then you file suit. You might get more than what you bargain for. You might get a thousand dollars from somebody, two thousand from the other from the other place. Now you up three thousand. Okay, but this is called pay for deletion. It takes a little bit longer, it's gonna cost a little bit more, but it will be off your credit report forever. Okay, now I know you're probably thinking, well, where am I gonna get this money from? Well, we have a process that could help you find anywhere from $100 to $150, from $100 to $500 within your own money. See, you don't have an income problem or a paycheck problem, you have a leak problem. You're leaking money somewhere that you probably forgot about. So we're gonna take you through a process of finding the leaks, finding the extra money. Right? You might find an extra $250, and then you wait a couple months. $250, $252, now you got $750. Now you got something to bargain with. Right? Okay, I got $750 for this account. Boom, that's all my credit. Credit scores up goes up. Okay, so we call this pay for deletion. All right, so um links to our free community is somewhere in the description area. Come check us out. We have some good, good, good stuff in there for you. It's simple stuff, it ain't complicated.
